Frequent Collusion collaborator choreographer Gareth Belling, will be Collusion’s Choreographer in residence and a member of Collusion from 2012. Gareth who made his choreographic debut with Collusion has received rave reviews for his latest 20 minute length work for Queensland Ballet. ‘Transition Sequence’ to Australian composer Carl Vine’s ‘Smith’s Alchemy’ is billed as striking and highly structural. Read the full review here. Belling is a JUMP mentee under the mentorship of revered Dutch choreographer Nills Christie. The mentorship is made possible with the support of the Australia Council for the Arts and Youth Arts Qld. Benjamin Greaves has returned from an overseas study tour, taking lessons from seasoned Czech, Ukranian and US musicians at the International Music Academy in the Czech Republic. Private lessons with the highly seasoned musicians Salomia Soroka, Daniela Souckova, Frantisek Soucek, and Kirsten Yon were invaluable for ongoing inspiration, as were chamber music studies with the superb and musically passionate Jiri Zigmund. The study tour was made possible with the assistance of a Professional Development grant from Arts Qld.
